Collaboration and Partnership Options for Small Business Owners

Working with another business owner can create new opportunities, but collaboration can take many different forms. This session explores the options available to small business owners who want to work together, from informal collaborations and referral relationships to joint projects, strategic partnerships, and shared business ownership.

We will cover how to choose the right structure, when to put an agreement in writing, and key issues like money, responsibilities, decision-making, intellectual property, and what happens when the relationship changes or ends.

Presented by Michael Jonas, JD, MBA, Owner and Attorney of Narwhal Law and Business Strategy, this session draws on his experience advising small businesses and nonprofits on business structures, contracts, collaborations, and sustainable growth.
