Renée Muzquiz
CLIENT & COMMUNITY NAVIGATOR
As a musician, Renée is the co-founder, guitarist and singer of Major Tomboys, Portland’s all-femme David Bowie tribute band and Stone Phoneys, a tribute to Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton’s “Trio” albums (she plays Linda, of course). She also writes original music she calls, “bleeding heart art-pop,” often conjuring images of scenic coastal Oregon while intimately exploring justice, climate change, mental health and queer life.
One can easily assume at this point that Renée is obviously drawn to oceanic themes and community justice. So, is it a coincidence that she now finds herself working at Narwhal? Definitely not! As Client & Community Navigator, she combines being a creative extrovert with her extensive background in nonprofit operations, event organization and communications when connecting with Narwhal’s clients and the greater Narwhal community.
When she’s not taking on too many intriguing projects, Renée enjoys traveling around Oregon and finding her new favorite restaurants with her wife, Kelly. You can also often find her randomly hanging out with her neighbors and cuddling with Rayo and Paolo, her dog and cat.
